Spring Planning: Reviewing Activities and Keeping Cover Aligned

For activity professionals, spring is a familiar transition point. Programmes expand, seasonal activities return and demand from schools, groups, families, and organisations begins to increase. While much of this planning is routine, spring is often the point at which activity delivery subtly changes in ways that are worth reviewing.

As you finalise plans for the months ahead, are you considering running or expanding any of the following?

Spring review prompts

• Are we introducing any new activities or variations on existing ones?

• Are activities moving from indoor to outdoor environments?

• Are water‑based activities progressing from flatwater to moving water?

• Are we operating at new or previously unused sites?

• Have group sizes, age ranges or client types changed?

• Are we engaging seasonal staff, subcontractors, or freelance instructors?

If you are an AIM Member, please keep us informed of changes to activities you are offering, or the environment they are delivered in. Please ensure you have checked your risk assessments and procedures before you start the new season.
