Public & Products Liability Cover
Public Liability cover protects you in the event that you are legally liable for loss, death or injury to a third party or damage to a third party’s property. The standard limit of cover is £5,000,000 for each event, however this can be increased if required. Public Liability cover provided by AIM is on a “losses occurring” basis. We are usually able to offer a retroactive extension for those wishing to convert from a “claims made” policy. There is an article on Public Liability cover in our February 2007 newsletter which may be of interest. If you want more information on the difference between “claims made” and “losses occurring” cover and any potential gaps in your cover then please don’t hesitate to ask.
Products Liability provides protection if loss, death or injury to a third party or damage to a third party’s property is caused by your products. The standard limit of cover here is £5,000,000 in total for all claims during your annual cover period, but an increased limit is available on request.

Professional Indemnity cover may not be relevant to all members however those that run training courses for outdoor professionals or provide technical advice to organisations for a fee may find this useful to have in place. Professional Indemnity cover is provided as an extension to your Public Liability cover and protects you if you are legally liable for damages and claimant’s costs and expenses for claims arising out of the conduct of your business to the value of £100,000 limit.
