ABOUT THE VENUE

The Hollowford centre set on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Castleton, Derbyshire in the heart of the Peak District National Park is the venue for our 23rd February member event.  Part of Lindley Educational Trust it works to benefit young people and influence the wider society they live in, using residential experiences and outdoor activities.

Speaker Profiles

Sophia Reed

BLM

Sophia specialises in dealing with defendant insurance litigation, including both employers’ and public liability claims. Her expertise includes dealing with serious injury claims such as chronic pain and eye, back and neck injuries. She also regularly defends clients involved in multi-party cases. Sophia has developed a particular specialism in dealing with claims in the outdoor industry and in the airport environment.

She is recognised for her advice and tactical approach in achieving optimum and robust solutions.

Sophia is a regular seminar speaker as well as providing case clinics and bespoke training for clients.

Andy Robinson

Andy Robinson

Lindley Educational Trust

Andy is the Chief Executive of Lindley Educational Trust, a charity focused on the personal development of children and young people.  The Trust has a particular interest in vulnerable young people and though historically it has primarily operated residential outdoor centres, is has more recently moved into urban youth work.  This is a direct result of reduced public funding of youth work and to ensure access to the benefits of outdoor learning for urban based young people.  

Andy is also the part-time CEO of the Institute for Outdoor Learning.

Rehna Yaseen

Lindley Educational Trust

Rehna is an experienced youth worker and outdoor leader.  She is based in Ashton under Lyne and works with Lindley Educational Trust running 4 youth groups and a range of progressive outdoor experiences for local young people including climbing & walking in the Peak District, hill walking further afield and winter mountaineering in Scotland.

Kelvyn James

Kelvyn James is an Outdoor Instructor & Consultant. He is the Current Chair of the British Association of International Mountain Leaders and was the Development Officer of the Association Of British Climbing Walls from 2014-2017, he now works on specialist projects for them.

Shaun Fyson

Mutual Manager

Shaun is the Mutual Manager for the Activities Industry Mutual. He works closely with our Chairman and the Board of Directors and the Regis team who look after our members. He visits many AIM members during the year, and oversees the new business and renewal process.

He also manages the Mutual’s relationship with our supporting insurer, Mitsui Sumitomo at Lloyd’s.

James Willis

Industry Specialist

James has specialised in the adventure activities insurance sector for the past decade. He focuses on all adventure activity related news and events, providing industry knowledge to support AIM’s strategy and our service to our members. His industry knowledge supports our handling of liability claims and helps us to continue to ensure that AIM’s services reflect the needs of our members.
